Manuela Pineda created Pura Clothes in 2014 based on the concept of slow fashion.
Free soul by nature and animal lover, she is a firm believer in the talent of the people of her country. Her designs are 100% made in Colombia and the fabrics and textiles that she uses also support the local economy.
The reward: sustainable fashion
Sustainable = awareness. For the designer being sustainable as a brand is not supposed to be a temporary act of kindness towards the system, for her sustainability is a way of life. The brand’s design process doesn’t follow fashion calendars, its pace is marked by Manuela, following her instincts and respecting her process. Observation and materialization of ideas. “Pura is everything, is life itself, the serenity of living”.
Her designs are based on simplicity, ease, and purity, but simple doesn’t mean unchallenging. “Simplicity is an art; its core is in the details”, every pattern, fabric, thread, and cut is thought through and has the purpose to give women the freedom to play with functional pieces that are sawed to last.
Pura women can be defined as free-spirited and open-minded, a subtle message drafted in every piece that speaks the beauty of simplicity. Functional garments that are meant to survive through time.
